Empty Bowls----A HUGH SUCCESS

The March 31^st first ever Empty Bowls Event—a great collaborative effort from the community collecting over 402 pounds of canned goods for the Green Valley Food Bank and over $6,000 collected (net of expenses) to benefit GVAS families and seniors in need and GV Food Bank families. Sponsors included Green Valley News & Sun, Dorn Homes, Dr. James & Susan Sidd and Plants for the Southwest.

Over 483 bowls were made by the Southern Arizona Clay Association, local potters and students from Corona Foothills Middle School. Nine local restaurants provided a variety of soups to sample and Kristofer’s professional staff monitored the heating and serving on the day of the event. The crowd enjoyed a face-painter, storytellers and master gardeners. The cookbook and raffle were a huge success.

"Bowling for Friends" at Green Valley Lanes

Co-ed recreational bowling; registration fee $400 per team, inclueds a t-shirt, pizza. pitcher of beer or soda.

Back-to-School event - school kids recieve supplies, a book, back-pack, and a gift card from Wal-Mart;
9-1 at Sahuarita Elementary School
